Larvikite Peach Moonstone and White Pearl Earrings, Black Labradorite Moonstone and Pearl Earrings
These one-of-a-kind earrings feature Larvikite in long thin triangle sticks that have the signature blue flash common with this Norwegian gemstone. I added tiny Labradorite faceted rounds on the very top with pewter spacer beads and bead caps. I wrapped the gemstones with silver non-tarnish wire and added drops of peach moonstone and a single white pearl.
Larvikite is a lovely stone with a mix of metallic grays and irridescence like Labradorite.
Larvikite is a member of the Feldspar family. The name originates from the Larvik Fjord region in Norway, where this type of igneous rock is found. It is sometimes misleadingly called Black Moonstone and even Labradorite, probably because they are all Feldspar minerals and because of the flash of irridescence.
Larvikite has also been called Norwegian Moonstone, Black Labradorite, Birds Eye Granite, Pearlspar, Blue Pearl, Emerald Pearl, Norwegian Pearl Granite, and Blue Norwegian Moonstone.
I've seen it used for countertops - and it's gorgeous with variegated grays and black with flashes of silvery sheen.
Sterling Silver French hook ear wires are shown.
Earring length is 2.5 inches.
Comes in a cotton-filled gold foil box perfect for gift-giving or for yourself!
