This necklace started, as many in my collections do, with the stone pendant. I had originally wrapped it with wire and strung it on a chain, but it cried out for a little more distinction. I happily obliged.
Black Onyx is always a good bet when there are blacks and grays in the stone. There a also subtle splotches of pink which I played up with pinkish Czech Firepolish rondelles and the sparkling glass cross-like beads that I recently found at my local Hobby Lobby. They have actually had a few strands of glass that I couldn't leave without. We must take our inspiration where we find it.
Something called for copper in this design, so again I obliged. The links came together effortlessly as did the dangles at the top of the pendant.
Copper colored chain makes the necklace adjustable anywhere from 18 to 24 inches.
